Oh, Herald Sun, you make me roll my eyes and fear for society

Jul 07, 2006 19:30

I get home today and sit down to read the paper, and discover that the Herald Sun, like most of the internet, has decided that spoilers aren't really spoilers when it comes to Doctor Who and has published that big arse Doctor Who spoiler (gwyddfid? _xehra? You have been warned!)

But... uhm... given that The Christmas Invasion is the episode airing here in Australia on Saturday at 7.30pm, can you see what they got wrong?

I'll also not comment on where the Herald Sun places their emphasis. First black "aide"? Uhm, doesn't Mickey count..?

Apparently channel 10 has also gone with the "there isn't a person left in the country who hasn't found out what happens in The O.C.'s season finale". I'm not sure if they think this because of Nelson or because of the internets in general, but they're telling everyone in their promos for next week that there are 3 more episodes until Marissa is "lost forever" in the year's most tragic finale. How will it happen? Why will it happen? There are clues in every episode!!!! Combine this with the fact that every TV magazine has been covering how Mischa Barton is leaving/has left the show (it was even the cover story on at least one) and it doesn't take much to put the clues together. And "is this Julie Cooper's final chance to change her daughter's fate?"

Spoilers: they're a funny thing these days. Now I'm going to read some Pagan until season one Veronica Mars continues on Ten... they're yet to spoil the nation on that one (I was just spoiled in the more traditional way -- people assuming everyone knew by halfway through the second season in the US).

the o.c., australian tv, spoiler whore, conspiracy theories, australian media, doctor who
