Sophia had her first day at school today. She seems to have enjoyed her day, but it's hard to tell as she came home exhausted, and therefore in low mood. But she perked up quickly enough. Today wasn't quite as productive. I was really achy after hauling books about yesterday, and the kids sent me to bed straight after breakfast. I did do some work, though. Last time I was down in Crawley, my mum brought up my wedding and the secrecy they foisted on me for 2 years, and their lack of involvement etc. She apologised to me.

So I've been 'on holiday' until today. The holidays are over. The last few weeks I've been ramping up to a decent schedule. When I was in hospital in Coventry one of the random consultants I saw was a diabetes specialist, and she said that when I got home I needed to tell my doctor that they can't monitor my blood sugars with the Hba1c test because I have the alpha plus thalesemia trait.

I went to the doctor on Thursday. He said it definitely isn't lung cancer. It is most likely sarcoidosis. They have compared x-rays from 2010 and 2014 and there is a gradually increasing dense patch in the mediastinum region, which is basically heart, aorta, part of the spine. I'm a bit worried. My doctors surgery rang me on Friday and left a voicemail and a text to say that I needed to contact them, which they wouldn't normally do. I rang for an appointment this morning and they wanted me to come in straight away. I said I had another appointment.
