I feel like I'm living in a freaking jail with my landlord sometimes. She has a new rule for me every few months. Last time it was trash can size, and tonight she called and reprimanded me for having a sticker on my front door notifying firefighters that I have pets to rescue. Stickers damage the paint and then she has to sandblast and repaint, ( Read more... )

are you in a private house? that's ridiculous that she's being so nitpicky! unless it's a city ordinance, she shouldn't be able to tell you squat about trash can size. and the sticker, well that's a legitimate thing to have posted!

It's a privately-owned apartment building. I was really, really pissed about the trash can size thing, and I'm actually still pretty pissed. I bet she'd either kick me out or make my life a living hell if I went back to my old trash can size, though. And as for the sticker, she got really snotty when I told her I put it on the door because my neighbor had one, and that it was the most logical place for a fireman to see it, and she told me to put it on the (out of the way) window. But wouldn't she rather me wait to remove it until she's ready to paint again? She has SO many annoying and stupid rules...

No, there's not, but she can also find a sneaky way to kick me out on my ass. And she would.

The one annoying thing I've gotten from my landlord is that now there's going to be a charge everytime I have them unclog the sink. Thanksfully I haven't needed that for a while, but that's also the reason I shouldn't have to pay when I do get one. C'est la vie.
