Hey there! I have a question.

I'm working on an application for Alex Mercer from PROTOTYPE and had a concern about his powers. In the game his entire being, including his clothing, make up his "body" and I was wondering if he would have enough access to his powers from the start to be able to re-form his clothes on his body? Because they're not actually an item he can bring in, they're actually a part of his organic structure.

I mean otherwise he would be pretty unconcerned with running around naked, but I'm sure someone might be offended. I just figured I'd ask.

That's fine! Keep in mind that he still wouldn't entirely have a good grasp on using what little power he has available from the start, though; if he were to try reforming his clothes from the start, the end result would be very flawed (patches of fabric missing, the clothing itself too large/small, etc.). If this doesn't sit well with you, clothing could always be provided for him upon waking up. Or he can have both (or neither, if you want to go that route... ;) The choice is ultimately up to you.

Just a quick question about Joshua!

Generally speaking, he's can go between different planes, and isn't in his 'true form.' Would he have access to his 'true form' or is he just gonna be stuck in this one?

Unfortunately none of the mods are familiar with Joshua's canon, so we have to ask on clarification on that. What do you mean by 'true form'?

Not a problem. It's a bit complicated. As far as anyone's aware of in his canon, the planes Angels live on is the highest plane of existence, and those who are alive in the Real Ground, RG, is the lowest plane of existence. The one in between is called the Underground, UG, inhabited by spirits of the dead, Reapers, and Noise.

As Shibuya's Composer, Joshua can 'tune' his frequency to the RG's frequency or the UG's frequency, like we tune into a radio station. He can't tune into the Angels' plane because it's at a higher frequency than he is. He's also suppressing his powers to be more anonymous, as he was the target of assassination. Joshua looks 15 now, but when he takes the cap completely off of his powers, he looks like he's in his 20's and more divine/impressive/intimidating.

If I make no sense then I'm really sorry.

That sounds indeed a little complicated! Well, we just talked it through and we think that since technically, there are no alternate planes in the Hub, Joshua would retain his usual appearance of a 15 year old. You also said 'if he takes the cap completely off of his powers', but since there will always be a certain cap on his powers here, it could explain why he doesn't appear in his other form. I hope that makes sense? It's like this suppressing of powers is a state he has no active control over. Sure he will regain some of his powers over time, but never the full extent.

Is there a limit as to what age the character has to be? Is there a certain point we have to bring them from in canon or can we bring them from wherever we want, be it the very beginning, the middle, or the end?

As of right now, there is no limit! We know that a lot of children from various series are capable to deal with a lot. However we might be quirking a brow if you're trying to app an infant ;)

As for your second question, you can definitely bring your character from whichever point in canon you want, provided they still have enough basis for characterization.

Say that you see the whole entire life of a character in a show, from child to adult. What happens if you want to app someone as a child then possibly somewhere down the road, want to canon update them to their adult self? Would that be allowed and if so, how would it work?

That would definitely work! As said in the FAQ, for canon updating characters would mysteriously disappear and be hooked up to the SE again for three days, and they won't remember what happened during that time (as they've spent time in their canon). Of course your character would come back with a different body, but we can't really explain how that works because it would give away too much of the plot! However, rest assured that a plausible explanation exist. Either way, canon updating in that way is perfectly acceptable.

Forgive me but I'm a little confused about the posting format - is the game completely community-based or are some of the communication posts in the journals as well? I'm considering apping Zidane but am not sure which account to use with him.

The game is completely community based! You won't have to post anything game-related in the journal at all, aside from maybe a HMD and character info post.

All right - that clears everything up. Thank you!

Howdy, I'm the gal who briefly popped into chat and I am all for OCs and have no problem working up a more detailed/rigorous app.
