"Maybe we're getting a break as a Christmas present. You never know." Billy smiled over at her as they walked, having been wondering the same thing as of late. While it was a little unnerving---one couldn't help but wonder if calmness always meant a calm before the storm, for for now, he'd try to take it as it was. They all needed a break, anyway.

The snow crunched under their feet as they walked, footsteps left in their wake. "How's your babysitting going?" he teased, having heard more than enough about the apparent childishness of the Gundam Meisters.

"I think I said it before, but I'm never going to have kids of my own, that's for sure." She smiled despite the sigh she faked.

Even if the Meisters' antics were absolutely ridiculous sometimes (and only got them into trouble, just like real kids), she appreciated having them around more than anything. They had become a sort of family for her, albeit a family made up of first graders trying to make her life hell at times. Maybe they should just call her Auntie from now on.

"What about you? Isn't there anyone you're babysitting?" She had heard about Graham after all, even though the rare times she actually talked to him, he seemed sensible enough.

"Yes. I think that it's some kind of pilot requirement to act like a child sometimes." He laughed, scratching the back of his head. "I've been a babysitter for years, though it usually ends up being pretty futile. Still, you do what you can."

Graham was...Graham, of course.

"I guess you have to be reckless and stubborn if you want to be a pilot. It does make sense." She shrugged, agreeing with the last part as well. It really was futile.

"Right... so what are we going to do now, anyway? It isn't as if we really have that much to talk about unless we're trying to interrogate each other..." She glanced over at him and smiled, a strange sort of regret coming up in her before she pushed it away, looking at the scenery instead.

Billy had never been someone very close or important to her even though she knew what he had felt (or was feeling?) for her. Part of it always made her uncomfortable to talk to him, having to decline the attempts at asking her out, but even so she couldn't help but feel saddened by how they were, in fact, on opposing sides. There was a big difference between someone you didn't want to date and an actual enemy.

"Well, we can go out for a drink if anything," he offered. Sure, she usually had turned him down with things like these, but it couldn't hurt to give it another try. Christmas spirit and all, maybe he'd be lucky this time.
