Damien grabbed one of the cookies, taking a bite of it as he waited for the tea to cool sufficiently. "As if you weren't enjoying it?"

For the first time in an extremely long time, he felt completely relaxed. He could ignore everything that was happening, inverted personalities and death threats and sociopathic scientists and whathaveyou. For now, he could just focus on one thing, the one thing that was keeping him sane.

"Hmph. Well, a real pillow can't hold you in return, now can it?" He chuckled before taking one of the mugs, sipping at it. Still hot, but good enough to drink.

Were they really actually getting through a period of time without arguing over something (whether it be playful or not)? ...Different. But very, very good.

Spoken (thought?) too soon. Still, despite rolling his eyes, the smile didn't leave his face. "I'm not a complete awkward idiot the entire time. ...Oftentimes, yes. However, I'd like to think that I'm managing. Somewhat."

He drank a bit more of the tea before putting it down. ...well, he was.

He leaned into the embrace. Unable to hold her back properly, his hands moved up to gently caress her arms. This was how things were done, right? It was nice. And if he was doing something wrong, he knew that she would not hesitate to let him know. That was something that he was grateful for.

"Again, you can't blame me for being awkward. But I'm happy to know that my attempts are at least somewhat successful."

"Ah, domestic violence. It brings a smile to the heart, doesn't it?"

He yawned and chose to fall backwards, stretching out on the rug beneath him. Well, it was kind of comfortable. "You do have a lovely habit of constantly having my masculinity brought into question."
