The Story of Lily

Mar 07, 2010 16:23

After harassing the animal shelter all week and talking to several different employees, it became apparent that they are no longer temperament testing very many dogs at the shelter.  They simply euthanize them.  Their euthanasia rate was 60%.  Now it's about 90%.  They absolutely would not commit to sparing the sweet girl I brought in, nor would ( Read more... )

I don't have a lot to offer, but I want to donate what I can. Your stories are always moving, but this whole story was so touching I cried. You do very amazing things, and its very inspiring.

I've got my PayPal account set up if you are still able to help out with Lily. I've posted the address in the journal entry. Once again, thank you, and thank you also for your words of encouragement.

Thank you for what you do! I am definitely going to help. I don't have a lot to give, but this is a really good cause that I feel very strongly about.

You did a very good thing for this little girl. I'd love to help out if I can. Please snuggle her for me. Rescue dogs are the best dogs.

*hugs* Thank you so very much! I'll be sure to give her loads of snuggles from you. She'd very much love to receive them.

It's kind of strange; I've worked with so very many rescue dogs, and many of them love people and obviously have much better, happier lives after rescue, but this girl actually seems to be grateful for being rescued. I've never encountered anything quite so endearing.

Oh I am so glad you saved one life--the next time I can, I will send you something. (My daughter just rescued another shivering, miserable creature cast off to die, which cost us the usual set of fees. And one can never regret that.)

Aw. So glad her mother supports such things and another sweetheart will get to live! Thank you for saving a life. If you have the resources down the road, I'll certainly be grateful if you can share them, but if not, simply sharing in the endeavor to save one life at a time with you is a wonderful thing.
