I can't help grinning every time I look at Lily's face, though. That top picture says it all! MY home! MY corner! MY softy bed! MY kid! Here's my tummy! Love it! The back paw is poised for the twitching!

Fortunately, since her owners never looked for her at the shelter, and she was there for the full 5-day, legal holding period, she is now officially mine by law... licensed, microchipped, and everything. Of course, all that will get transferred over to her permanent owner, but at least this miserable process has put me in the clear legally.
Ugh. I am so sorry your own finances are looking so grim right now. I know how much you love your location (I love reading about your adventures with the local wildlife!), and it pains me to know you may not be able to stay. I wish I had something more substantial than hugs to give, but all the same... *HUGS*
