For the record, I've hated Roman Polanski for years, since well before it was cool.

Michael Moorcock's influence on spec-fic
I am reading Michael Moorcock's The White Wolf's Son (for the first time) right now, and did a Wikipedia search to remind myself of the elements of the trilogy of which it is the conclusion and the greater scope of Moorcock's "Eternal Champion" and related materials.

Cabo San Lucas (part 1?)

Applying for incredibly specific skill requirements job placement blues
Sometimes I hate applying for work. Biotechnology job listing requirements are so ludicrously specific. I have eight years of experience in protein purification and column chromatography, for example, but not in running computer-controlled *H*PLC, only computer-controlled *F*PLC.
