Yeah, I have a lot to catch up on... Doesn't help that LJ's glitching over the past couple of weeks have stalled me from posting everything I wanted to post up here. Better late than never, though I just don't know what issue I want to touch on first. I'd like to touch on everything in this one entry, but then it's just going to get long, and ( Read more... )

No really... I can't. I cannot sit in the congregation, I might CUT someone. I've tried, and it drives me crazy

I'm also a Catholic, raised as one and I also went through all the rituals and still to this day I adhere to a few of the traditional things ( ... )

All this talk about acceptance, tolerance and virtue and around me were women five or six times my age that outside church were nothing but harpies to everyone else.

My own mom and grandmother are like that, so... you can see how jaded the whole thing makes me.

My paternal grandmother was like that, dunno if she still is, I've kind of estranged from my relatives but particularly to my dad's side of the family.

So yeah, I think the only reason why I still go is almost the same reason you do. I don't sing at the choir, but I like to listen to it.

God and religion are two different things - got it in one, hon, got it in one.

Agreeing with you since 2007, and really before, but that's when I wrote this monstrosity.

(I added you to my Super-Potent Filter so you could read this... I hope it worked, because I refuse to copy and paste something that long! *giggle*)

I don't think there's a formula for prayer. To me, it's something as simple as "don't let it rain today" or "I hope so-and-so feels better soon."

If you want it, truly, that's enough.

Born and raised an Islam but I follow another ancient religion for a certain spiritual reason and yes, these are all done in seeceerreet.

I know what you feel here. Most religions are mainly "YOU ARE GOING TO HELL UNLESS YOU TURN TO THIS RELIGION."

Oh well, =D I've already booked a room there in Helheim. Anyone wants to be my neighbour?

I gave up on Islam. It's not because it's a bad religion or so but it's not in my heart to follow the ways of one when I've seen some other forms of divine entity in my darkest moment.

How can you teach someone to love if your are homophobic?
You've brought up an excellent point once again =)
