Shindong/Shindong (Shindong/Everyone)
humor
a) this seemed like a good idea when I started it. b) wow. wow. I was really not expecting the amount of response I got for that last fic. thank you so much! c) For some reason I have been craving Kangin/Eeteuk/Heechul lately, but there's very little for it and I've read it all. D:

It started with a dozen and one roses. They were a gift to Shindong from a fan and, really, a great way to start off the day. Wake up, get some flowers with an attached message declaring him the most amazing and handsome and spectacular person alive in those exact words, and then the day would get progressively better. Or, at least, that's how it was supposed to have happened.

First it was roses, then everyone went insane.

Shindong was attempting to sort the pile of clothes on his bed, on the floor, and on Donghae's bed into separate piles of things that belonged to him, things that belonged to someone else, and things that didn't belong to any of them and if they did he really didn't like knowing that someone wore underwear like that. He shuddered and dropped the offending piece of clothing back onto the floor. It really shouldn't have been that hard to find a single clean shirt, but in all their mess it somehow was.

Then Donghae came in. "Good morning," Donghae said. He walked over to Shindong and hugged him much too tight for that early in the day. Or ever. "You smell nice."

Shindong gently pushed Donghae off of him. "Thanks," he said distractedly. Over the years he had developed a method to ignoring Donghae's eccentricities. To some degree.

Donghae pressed his nose to Shindong's neck and breathed in. "Really nice. Are you wearing new cologne?" He took another deep breath through his nose and retightened his hold on Shindong.

Some things Shindong couldn't ignore. "What?"

Then Heechul arrived. "What are you doing?" he shrieked, pulling Donghae by his shirt collar away from Shindong. "I just saw you talking to Hankyung in the other room and now I find you all over Shindong!"

Shindong wondered if he'd somehow managed to end up in the middle of some lovers' quarrel and, if he had, he sincerely hoped they'd take it somewhere else. There were some things he didn't need or want to know about, ever. Especially before he'd even had breakfast.

Heechul shoved Donghae out of the room and slammed the door behind him before turning back to Shindong. The look in Heechul's eyes was terrifying in its intensity. Heechul slowly licked his lips once, then launched himself at Shindong and practically tore through Shindong's pajama top.

"What are you--" and Heechul kissed him, hard and needy. With something akin to a war cry, Donghae ran back inside the room, grabbed Heechul by the hair, and the two of them ended up clawing, biting, and hitting each other on the ground.

Then came Eeteuk. He surveyed the situation calmly with both an air of surprise and a level of resignation, as if he'd expected as much to happen one day. Only the tight press of his lips belied the way he really felt. "Heechul, Donghae, stop that!" He pulled them apart with possibly more force than was absolutely necessary. "Out, both of you."

Shindong wondered at how easy it was for Eeteuk to throw the two of them out of the room, but it became clear that they were too distracted with fighting each other to notice much else.

"Now we can be alone," said Eeteuk, closing the door and turning to face Shindong, eyes dark, cheeks flushed.

"Wait," said Shindong. "What?"

He hadn't seen anyone move that fast since, well, Heechul. Eeteuk's mouth tasted like toothpaste and his hands felt warm as he tried to press them below the waistband of Shindong's jeans.

Shindong's eyes widened and he pried Eeteuk off of him. Then he ran. He had places to be and filming to do and he didn't care if he was still half in his pajamas or that he'd run out of the building in his slippers or that his hair was sticking up on one side. Strange looks from the people he passed by was, he'd determined, much preferable to the alternative.

Or so he had thought.

Apparently the 'I've just run out of my apartment in a panic because everyone has lost their minds' look was exactly what did it for some people. Things weren't so bad at first; maybe an extra grope when he wasn't looking, or more fans waiting outside the building for him, or even a few looks that were obviously meant for a bedroom or, at the very least, a broom closet.

Then a stylist attempted to do what Heechul and Eeteuk had managed previously and she was tackled to the ground by a PD who loudly declared Shindong his and no one else was to touch or else. From there things turned into a close approximation of a street brawl or a steel cage match depending on which direction he looked in. Shindong took that as a sign that today was a good day to call in sick, dying, or dead and hide out somewhere no one would find him.

Shiwon just happened to be in the same building at the same time, however. "You know, out of everyone, you're my favorite," whispered Shiwon, blushing, but staring straight at Shindong.

They were alone in the hallway in an area that was rarely used and it was a special kind of bad luck, thought Shindong, that his escape route would lead him there. He wondered if it was too much to hope that Shiwon hadn't succumbed to whatever was making everyone else act so strangely. By the look on Shiwon's face, it was way too much to hope. Shiwon took a step forward. Shindong took three steps back.

A door opened at the other end of the hallway which was just the distraction Shindong needed to flee. Distantly he heard Shiwon and another man arguing over him.

Then he was caught by Eunhyuk and Kibum as he attempted to sneak back into his apartment. He figured that was a clear sign that some higher power was having a great laugh at his expense.

They ambushed him in the elevator. Kibum smiled dazzling white teeth as he slowly backed Shindong into the corner where Eunhyuk waited. "We heard about what happened earlier," said Eunhyuk, sliding his hands into Shindong's back pockets. "Some people can be so forceful when it's clear they aren't wanted," Kibum agreed while pressing himself against Shindong's chest.

The elevator doors opened just in time.

Except on the wrong floor. And Kangin was waiting for him. He grabbed Shindong by the wrist and forced him up against the wall, ignoring the outcries from both Eunhyuk and Kibum. "I've always thought you looked good," said Kangin.

"You'd be surprised at how often I've been hearing that," Shindong replied, slowly sliding out of Kangin's grip and inching closer to the door of the second dorm. "But I really have some things I need to do now. Such as not this."

Kangin frowned and moved closer. Then Kibum attacked Kangin from behind, aided by Eunhyuk, and Shindong slipped inside the apartment door.

He had a moment of peace before a chill ran down his spine and he knew he wasn't alone. "We've been expecting you," Sungmin purred into his ear. Shindong turned around.

"If you hadn't shown up we would have had to go get you," said Yehsung. He ran a hand through Shindong's hair.

"Everyone else has had a turn, it's only fair we do, too," Kyuhyun said, leaning down to kiss Shindong's lips.

"Especially since we know how to have the most fun," said Ryeowook, sliding to his knees. And, oh, there were just some things Shindong never wanted to know about at all, ever.

Shindong turned and, for what felt like the millionth time that day, he ran.

He nearly tripped over Kibum who was choking Kangin who had Eunhyuk on the ground with his arms pinned behind his back, but he managed to avoid a collision and he'd made it all the way to the stairwell when he realized that he was being chased. He ran faster.

On the right floor with the right apartment Hankyung was holding open the front door for him. "Hurry," he called out. And Shindong did. He barely made it inside before Sungmin had caught up to him. Hankyung slammed the door shut and locked it. "Are you alright?" he asked.

Shindong nodded and tried to catch his breath. "Good," said Hankyung, smiling, and acting just as he always did. Until he started to unbutton his shirt. "In China it is customary to thank someone with your body when they save your life," he said.

"No," said Shindong. "I don't think that's right."

Hankyung advanced and--

Shindong's eyes snapped open. He sat up in bed and looked around the room wildly as if at any moment someone would jump out of the shadows and attempt to have their way with him. After five minutes of nothing but Donghae's snoring, he relaxed enough to lay back down. Another ten minutes and he figured he was safe enough to close his eyes. Half and hour later he finally fell back asleep.

The next morning he received a dozen and one roses from a fan.
