This. Um. :D

In Hankyung's mind everything had a set way of being. The Earth was round and revolved around the sun, Hankyung needed oxygen to breath, and in the course of life on Earth Hankyung was born, would live out his life, and eventually die --hopefully of old age, but if it had to be some other way he had decided that something heroic such as saving small, adorable children from a burning building would be acceptable. Occasionally the rules of his reality were a little strange. He was, after all, a member of a boyband of unusual size and frequently the only natural conclusion to an argument was a food fight or hiding all the other guy's underwear in the freezer.

Regardless of the oddities that surrounded him, Hankyung still knew up from down and left from right and that agreeing to most any of Donghae's ideas was probably not a good plan. Some things just never changed. Until, naturally, they did.

Shiwon, or at least someone who looked like a very close approximation to what Shiwon would look like if he looked only slightly different, ran into their apartment one morning, grabbed Heechul as he was slowly and tiredly making his way to the kitchen where there was food and caffeine, and then dragged him off to the bedroom. Hankyung only realized after the door had been slammed shut that they'd actually gone into his bedroom and wasn't that completely unfair. But it was too early in the morning to have any emotional investment in life, the universe, or anything. He was still trying to access his higher brain functions that would allow him to pour coffee into a mug without spilling it everywhere. Only by some miracle did he think that he'd ever get to the point of even drinking it.

Then Heechul screamed. Loud and shrill and then trailed off into what almost sounded like laughter. Eeteuk, who had fallen asleep with his head on the table, sat up straight and blinked a few times. "What?" He looked around the room once, then rubbed his eyes. "Huh?" Hankyung shrugged, or tried to. He just wasn't able to expend that kind of energy yet.

Another loud noise came from Hankyung's bedroom and that time it was definitely Heechul laughing. "Oh," said Eeteuk, resting his head back on the table. "It's only Heechul. Hankyung, you deal with it. I'm not leader yet."

With a sigh, Hankyung set both the coffee pot and his mug down and head to his bedroom. He knocked on the door once. "Heechul?" He heard a thump, and then whispers coming from the other side. "Are you okay?"

Heechul opened the door wide enough to poke his head out. "Are you alone?" Hankyung looked around. Eeteuk had fallen back asleep against the kitchen table and no one else seemed to be awake. "Yes?" he answered. Heechul pulled Hankyung into his bedroom where the lights were dim, clothes that weren't his and hadn't been there when he had woken up were thrown all over the floor, and Shiwon was standing in the corner with a long jacket pulled around him.

As soon as Hankyung was in the room Heechul shut and locked the door behind them. "You have to see this," said Heechul, excitedly. That made Hankyung nervous. Nothing good ever came from dark rooms and an excited Heechul.

"What is going on?" he asked.

Heechul grinned. "Shiwon should explain."

Shiwon stepped out from the corner and closer to Hankyung. He looked weird, softer somehow, but still like Shiwon. Hankyung couldn't quite pinpoint the strange difference. Shiwon sighed, opened his jacket and--

Suddenly Hankyung's world made a lot less sense than it used to. "What?" he asked. "You. What. Girl?"

"He turned into a girl!" exclaimed Heechul, clapping his hands together. "Not even a pretty girl. He still looks like Shiwon but with girl parts." Heechul frowned at that revelation. "It's too bad."

Hankyung had never seen anything quite as tragic as the look on Shiwon's face at that moment.

"How did this happen?" asked Hankyung. He couldn't stop himself from staring at Shiwon's chest, unsure if should be horrified or intrigued. He settled on slightly distressed.

"I don't know," said Shiwon. His voice was lighter and more feminine, though definitely Shiwon's voice. "I was in the shower and then--" Shiwon waved his hands around a few times as if that would help them understand exactly how a decidedly male Shiwon would suddenly be anything but. "Do you think God is punishing me?"

Heechul smacked the back of Shiwon's head. "This is no time for a crisis of faith," he said.

Had Hankyung been more in his right mind at that moment he probably would have disagreed.

"Do you think we should tell anyone?" Hankyung asked. "Or call a doctor?"

"No," said Shiwon. "No one can find out."

Heechul nodded his head. "I agree. What would people think if they saw Shiwon as an ugly girl?" Shiwon looked like he was about to cry.

They made it nearly twenty whole minutes before everyone found out. Donghae and Shindong caught Heechul trying to find clothes that would fit Shiwon's more feminine frame, and then they just had to tell Eeteuk who naturally called Kangin who of course had to call everyone else. Kangin felt it was his duty to inform the rest of the members because not only was it just the funniest thing to occur in his lifetime, but how often did a man inexplicably turn into a girl?

"I bet this kind of thing happens all the time," said Donghae. "Just no one ever talks about it." They had all gathered in Hankyung's bedroom to discuss what was being called 'The Shiwon Situation'. "Can I touch those?" asked Donghae, reaching toward Shiwon's chest.

Heechul slapped his hand away. "No touching!" He looked at everyone who was looking at Shiwon. "And no looking! Hankyung, guard Shiwon." Hankyung stood up, then sat back down. He had no idea what he was supposed to do.

Heechul forced Shiwon into the space beside Hankyung on his bed and then sat down next to him. From what Hankyung could tell, Shiwon was more than a little squished.

"If only it had been Heechul to turn into a girl," said Kangin, sadly. "At least then we wouldn't have a problem. No one would be able to tell the difference." Heechul threw a book at Kangin's head.

"I just. How? Why?" Eeteuk asked. He was sitting on the floor with his head between his knees in a manner befitting their brave and fearless leader.

Shindong rubbed at his eyes a few times like he couldn't quite comprehend the what was going on.

"I think I have to agree with Eeteuk," Kyuhyun said. "Why?"

"And what's it like being a girl?" asked Sungmin.

"Anyone else need a drink?" added Yehsung.

Eeteuk took a deep breath and smiled at the reporters. "Shiwon is...away for a while. Doing, um. Things?"

Heechul pushed Eeteuk out of the way. "He's taking a short break because of stress. Busy schedules have really gotten to him. He's not quite himself," he said

Kangin moved in front of both of them and leaned in to the microphone. "He'll be back later when he's less, you know, stressed."

Hankyung stepped forward, and then stepped back again. He shrugged, nodded, and smiled for the camera.

Despite Shiwon having become a girl, they tried to resume their lives and activities as usual. Though fans sent 'Get Well Soon!' presents and everyone wanted to know when Shiwon would return. Two days after the initial shock, they'd all gathered to practice their dance steps.

"Stop!" cried Eunhyuk. "Stop. I can't do this." He shut off the music and covered his eyes. "Shiwon is-- he's-- she's. Bouncing."

Shiwon was already wearing the most unflattering sweater he owned, but still Hankyung could see the problem.

"Why were you looking?" demanded Heechul.

"It's kind of hard not too," Kibum answered. He was hugging Eunhyuk who appeared to be traumatized. "Shouldn't he be wearing a bra?"

Shiwon gaped. "I don't. I'm not." He faltered and turned toward Hankyung.

Hankyung stared. "Um."

"Kibum's right," said Heechul. "Shiwon, come with me. As long as you're a girl, you should dress like one."

Practice pretty much ended there. It shouldn't have, but with a room full of twelve boys and one boy-suddenly-turned-girl it was remarkably difficult to stay focused.

*

Hankyung was in his room, reading, and quietly hoping that Shiwon would remain intact after Heechul, Sungmin, Donghae, and for some reason Kangin, had dragged him off to buy 'girl things'. He liked Shiwon as he was, even if as he was had changed recently, and time spent with those four, doing anything, could break the will of any lesser man. And for the time being Shiwon was less than a man.

Hankyung's bedroom door burst open as Shiwon ran in, then pressed himself against the closed door. Shiwon was wearing a red and white dress and a headband was holding back in longer than normal hair. "Hi," said Hankyung. "Is that lipstick? Are you wearing makeup?"

Shiwon's eyes were wide and terrified as he spoke. "Ryeowook. He thought. Lipstick. Heechul--" Sometimes Hankyung couldn't help but to think that Shiwon was a little too sheltered. These things always managed to take him by surprise.

He grabbed Shiwon by the hand and pulled him down onto the bed.

"Hide me," said Shiwon. He kissed the curve Hankyung's neck as Hankyung wrapped his free arm around Shiwon's waist. "It's scary out there."

"Shiwon are you in here?" Heechul stepped inside Hankyung's bedroom. "You ran off before we could-- Oh." He stopped when he noticed Shiwon and Hankyung curled up together on the bed. "Are we doing this now?" Heechul flopped down on the bed, sandwiching Shiwon between them.

Hankyung closed his eyes and tried not to think about Shiwon's breasts pressed up against him or how he could fit his hand perfectly on Shiwon's hip. As strange as it all was, Shiwon did make a nice girl. "Um," he said. "I think your lipstick rubbed off on my shirt."

*

"Ryeowook, pass the blue." Donghae and Ryeowook were sat on the floor on either side of Shiwon, painting his fingernails in various different colors; none of which matched.

"Have you seen the cherry red?" asked Ryeowook. "No, no, that's fire-engine red."

Heechul was sitting behind Shiwon, arms and legs wrapped around him, while Hankyung was laying on the couch lazily flipping through the television channels. He paused briefly on a drama before resuming his search for something worth watching. "Donghae," he said, glancing down at Donghae's handiwork. "I don't think you're supposed to paint his entire finger."

"Oh," said Donghae. "I think it looks better this way."

Shiwon whimpered.

"Don't worry," Ryeowook said, finishing on Shiwon's left hand. "I'll fix it."

"I'll work on her toes!" announced Donghae.

*

"Ew," said Kangin. "Gross. Don't do that where anyone could see you."

"You don't even live here," Heechul said. "It's not my fault you just walk in unannounced." Heechul tried to wipe Shiwon's lipstick off of his cheek.

"I live here!" Eeteuk cut in. "I don't want to see that! There are bedrooms and locks on the doors for a reason." He averted his eyes as Shiwon discretely tried to button up her shirt, bra halfway across the room. Hankyung couldn't find his pants.

*

Hankyung had finally rethought and reorganized everything he knew of the world to fit all the things he had learned. Things were exactly as they were until suddenly and without reason they could be entirely different. Sometimes boys turned into girls as they were washing their hair and most of the time they didn't. Hankyung didn't entirely understand this new view on How The World Worked, but he decided he didn't really have to. Of course, as soon as he'd figured that out Shiwon stopped being a girl.

"I'm a boy!" Shiwon yelled happily.

Heechul, who had fallen asleep in Hankyung's bed, rolled over and rubbed at his eyes sleepily. "What?"

"I'm a boy!" Shiwon repeated.

"Good for you. So am I." Heechul pulled the blankets over his head and rolled back onto his side. "Quiet."

Eeteuk, Shindong, and Donghae appeared in Hankyung's doorway, all in various states of barely conscious. "We heard yelling," explained Eeteuk. "Is everything okay?"

Shiwon waved his hands around. "I'm a boy."

"Is that all?" asked Donghae, disappointed. He turned and walked back toward his room.

"I'm happy for you," mumbled Shindong as he too went back to his room.

"That better not happen again," said Eeteuk, turning to leave. "I've made it a new band rule," he added.

Shiwon frowned. "But. Boy!"

"Well, I'm glad you're you again," said Hankyung, pulling Shiwon into a hug.

Hankyung decided he really liked things just as they were, even if, for the most part, he was left very confused. Up was down, right was left, and a bed made for one could easily fit three if they all squeezed close together.
