На вчерашних слушаниях в юридической комиссии Палаты представителей многие демократы пытались заставить Джефа Сешнса признаться во вранье по поводу российских связей и его знания о них. Он умело вилял, тянул время и прибегал к стратегическому "I don't recall". Пожалуй, лучше всего пригвоздить его получилось у Hakeem Jeffries из Бруклина. “The attorney general of the United States of America should not be held to a different standard than the young police officer whose life you ruined by prosecuting him for perjury.”

У республиканцев на слушаниях были свои заботы, в частности расследование Хиллари Клинтон. Одиозный конгрессмен Луи Гомерт из Техаса притащил офигительную схему про уран.

Это далеко не в первый раз, кода Луи Гомерт, любимец Fox News, ударяется в конспирологию. В 2010 на заседании Конгресса он распространял целиком вымышленную байку про том, как Обама дал деньги бразильской компании Petrobras в качестве взятки Джорджу Соросу.

После знаменитых эскапад Бека, в том числе с расисткими тонами, от него стали дистанцироваться компании, покупавшие у Fox News рекламное время. В конце концов в 2011 он из-за этого потерял работу.

Ныне подобная участь ждет Шона Хэннити, продолжателя дела Бека. В результате кампании, развернутой Media Matters, его передачу начали понемногу покидать рекламодатели.
