Pavel knocked lightly on the door before poking his head inside, smiling at the two women. "Hallo!" he said brightly as he stepped into the room, moving to settle in the chair next to Hikari. "I am not late yet, da?" he asked hopefully. From the look of the room -- and the empty chair -- the new guy hadn't arrived yet. That was fine, then.

"Would it matter if you were?" Lena grumbled, nearly simultaneous to Hikari's face lighting up. That was the thing, you never knew who you were going to work with. So far, two out of three were pretty damn good. She tended to miss the tiny, annoying Russian when he wasn't around.

"Wery vell, Hikari," he replied brightly, grinning warmly at her. "And you?" Hikari was the best part of the day -- since how great was getting to work with your best friend?

Jim was on his way, but it took a while to actually get through the damn security. He didn't let it dampen his mood, because he was working in a new division -- and he'd also been shown who his partner was going to be, and...well, he was pretty pleased.

And Hikari was dutifully ignoring Lena's eyerolls, because Lena tended to be a bit of a party pooper unless you caught her at just the right time. "I'm good. Missed you. How was the Siberia assignment?"
