So snuck over here from Mith's journal, because I swear you two are single(double?)handedly resuscitating the Suikoden tumblr tag and I want to encourage that! Also I liked this very much. Chris is in my top five favorite characters in Suikoden anyway, and it's especially great when other people try to show her that fun is actually a thing, and she is dense but manages to make some progress. Even though they're one-on-one here, their different leadership styles still show through, so that Lucia's confidence makes Chris' self-denial stand out in even sharper relief, and vice versa. But it's not about you're doing it wrong so much as there are different ways of doing it, and that's decidedly awesome.

Also, I must confess, my first two coherent thoughts on this were, "Welp, Lucia definitely has a type," and "I suppose this is JUST what Hugo needs, too." "AND you slept with my MOM? SERIOUSLY?"

Ha, we're trying! Mith finally sat me down and made me play through almost all the titles in the main series (still haven't played IV), which she'd been trying to get me to do for years. I fell in love, and as often happens when Mith and I fall in love with something, we started tossing around plotbunnies left and right.

I'm so glad you liked this, because I adore Chris and I'm planning on writing a lot more of her in days to come. (And she is SO dense, the dear. Sometimes willfully so, I suspect, but dense nonetheless.) And I'm really glad that this came across as there are different ways of doing it and not the other, because both Lucia and Chris are so fabulous and strong in their own ways, and I didn't want to undermine that for either of them
