Suikoden III: finishing thoughts.

Finished Suikoden III yesterday, and because it pays to be a completionist in Suikoden games, got the full ending.

Daaaaaaaaamn.I really did adore this game. I think Suikoden V is ultimately more relevant to my themes, and managed to engage me more narratively, but III is damned good, and the bonus content at the end you get if you manage to ( Read more... )

It seems like we agreed on a lot of fronts, though you actually talk much about characters and storytelling and I spent most of my review bitching about mechanics.

Also, "Albert Silverboner" is an awesome phrase.

To be fair, I spent a lot of my last post on the subject bitching about mechanics, so I thought doing so again would get a little old. (Well, except for the fixed camera angles, because I will bitch about those forever.) I do tend to be a fairly character-and-storytelling oriented gamer in general, I admit; I can go on grindfests for a long time, yes, but I like having a solid story and world to return to when that compulsion wears off.

Mith herself coined it! Which isn't that surprising, given her penchant for terrible puns. Also, I am starting to understand why a significant number of tall redheads have cropped up in our stories...
