Meme, stolen from -- uh, at least four people?

sorry about the deleted post yesterday -- I realized there were a lot of issues with the way I was constructing my argument and I was probably throwing too many different things into the post instead of focusing on what I actually wanted to talk about, so I am revising it and thinking about how to make it, uh, actually coherent. Hopefully the ( Read more... )

Since I've been reading and rereading this story for the past couple of days... was there any particular inspiration for Worldsmith, or was its creation somewhat random?

Worldsmith arose out of a series of things. I participated in usxuk's secret Santa exchange last year as a pinch-hitter, and one of the things my prompter requested was a fic with England, America, and Shakespeare appreciation. I'd had a ficbunny percolating for months about England and his playwrights during that period, but it didn't have much of a plot other than retelling historical events, and I usually like my Hetaliafic to have some kind of character/story hook beyond recounting the facts. The two ideas crossbred in my head. I thought I'd do a kind of split-timeline story elaborating on some of the parallels between Elizabethan politics and American politics (particularly about war and Henry V), but I was running out of time and, unlike my girlfriend, I'm not very good at split-timeline stories ( ... )

If you remember, what were some of the changes you made to Running Out of Alibis and why? The title was the only change I remembered between reading the old and new versions, so I'm curious about what I missed.

Uhhh I'm a huge nuisance and have multiple things.

1. So in Self-Evident Part 2 the word 'jacitating' is used to describe the light from the TV. I didn't know what it meant so I looked it up in my dictionary and couldn't find it. Uh. What does it mean? oh my GOD I feel like an idiot asking this.

2. How did you cast your Hetalia rendition of RHPS?

3. How do you come up with titles? (... I mostly ask this because I usually wind up with song titles which is the wimpiest cop-out in the book. But I know no other way.)

4. Why do you write in present tense? It's a rare stylistic choice.

5. What do you consider more important when writing your fic: how skillfully it's written or how much you're enjoying yourself?

... I'm done.
