NYAF! (and pictures!)

Do not know if NYAF will get full con report, as the con itself was -- not great. Overcrowded and overpriced ($4 for a bottle of water!), under-paneled, Javitt Center kicking people out at seven and ten on Friday and Saturday respectively, and even the supposed big draw of the con, the dealer's room, didn't have a whole lot I was interested in. convention: nyaf, life outside the internets, grr argh, i never outgrew playing dressup

The spirit of the Bear Jew runs strong among our security staff.

There are also other exciting things that will happen that confidentiality forbids me from telling me but EEE IT WILL BE AWESOME

Saw the pics. SO MUCH FUN!!!

Sucks bad about security. Couldn't you put in a complaint to the company that placed them? I'd be too pissed about getting a books stolen.

*sighs* I have no close cons to go to.

I'm tempted to, though I fear that the complaint will be lost in the bureaucracy somewhere. Friggin' bureaucracy.

I have a few relatively close cons -- Otakon is literally 20 minutes away from my house, and the drive to Katsu isn't too bad -- but my favorite con is out in Chicago, so go figure.

Yeah. And not just lousy, but actively asshattish. Pragmatically, yes, I understand there is little you can do, but if there are reports of theft, maybe you want to see about TIGHTENING the security? You know, as is your job?

Thanks! The photoshoots were a blast.

I think so, too. And there are cons like that out there, ones where I will not shell out fifty-ish bucks for a good masquerade and -- a good masquerade.
