Bought Katie Melua's new album yesterday and ho: there is a Leonard Cohen cover on it (Secret Life). I love Melua's music and would really recommend the new album. But Cohen's version of that one song is much more touching. Melua's singing may be more artistic but the simplicity of Cohen's interpretation makes it all the more moving to me. Yes, feeling good. New flat, new life, happy cat and all that. And somehow Mika's Grace Kelly was increasing the good mood today.
I just love the way he sings happily about a sad thing. That is such a weirdly entertaining song and video. I am weird, too - gotta love it.
