Yeah, I have had nightmares about the renovation of my old flat ending up in disaster. I dreamt that the guy painting the rooms and repairing the cat's scratchmarks had ripped the wallpaper into pieces and had nailed a red suitcase (?!) filled with something alive against the ceiling. The place was also filled with dust and spiderwebs. When the ( Read more... )

Congrats on your well painted hole of a flat! What a relief,eh? Good, when you can leave it behind finally and close this irksome chapter. Great!

Yes, the vid is pretty well known but the song is great. Personally I prefer this one:

Great video, fitting the message very well. The other one seems much more artsy though :) Like them both. Interesting how Cohen interprets the song so differently here. Bravo.
As to the furniture: My answering machine tells me I should make an appointment for the kitchen to be delivered next week. Let's see if I can manage or if it will have to wait till after the holidays...

What I say: Mostly there are many ways to interpret things. If you want to interpret.

How it will be fine when your new flat gets ready, eh? Makeshift living becomes annoying with time. I've experienced that more than once. I hope that you'll be able to make an appointment for the delivery of your kitchen next week. Will you be posting any pics for your curious online friends? *hint* :)

Pics? The only one in the new flat existing so far, is one of my cat, relaxing near the balcony door. What else could be better proof to the great surroundings, though?

Thing is: My cat KNOWS she is adorable and how to use it *lol*

How weird can people get? It seems canoeing is really typical for a staff's trip. I did not take part in it last time, but we had several accidents in the cold water, too.
Your colleagues seem to be reckless. What wonderful pictures you could have taken and sold to the pupils for the school magazine. HARRHARR.
Reminds me of my trip to Ireland - it was January and extremely apocalyptic weatherwise. We warmed up in a pub, too. Fortunately, EVERYONE there was soaking wet, so we did not have to hide in the back chamber.
Guess you had fun ;)

Your colleagues went canoeing, too?! So it's an unconscious decision to drown oneself, then... very common amongst teachers... oh dear!

"Fortunately, EVERYONE there was soaking wet, so we did not have to hide in the back chamber." - And maybe because you didn't start stripping down to your underpants as soon as you had set foot into the house... *LOL*
