To any UCSC students who haven't checked out the administrative email from today, I recommend it as a bile-inducing activity. It made me angry enough to write a response I know no one it's addressed to will read, so I thought I'd re-post it to feel fulfilled about writing it

Claire, I love you to death, but your response letter is a tad ridiculous. In addition to the previous sentence, I will preface my reasons why by saying that I agree that in a perfect scenario, UCSC would allow students and their out-of-town visitors (though certainly not middle-schoolers) to do whatever they want to do on April 20th

(5) "All these policies seem to be under the impression that all UCSC students participate in the 4/20 celebration, which I would venture to say most do not. The way you're taking away rights from nonparticipating students is shameful." Logically, are non-participating students likely to invite visitors that weekend? Even so, would their guests likely be the type to not go to the Meadow? Realistically, it is their property, they can shut it down and/or do whatever they want with it to whomever. I'm not saying it's fair or good (because I don't like it at all either), just that it is well within their rights
