I'll be in LA moving what's left of my crap out of my dad's place, the house I was raised in. He's moving out of there after thirty years of residence there and into a house he is in the process of buying. No more 809 N. La Jolla Avenue, and then I'll return to my regular scheduled program. I'm starting to adopt "the less I know, the better off I am" practices beyond things pertinent to...well...that separation. I'm afraid to learn things about completely unrelated people that might incite great amounts of negative emotions and pain. This behavior is both new to and not at all like me.

While my resolve only grows stronger, I am getting tired of running.

She just needs to stay in the picture long enough to shrink the shadow of her predecessor to a small enough size, then she can go for all I care.

2012 to me feels like Obama's first term compared to the end of George W. Bush's presidency; a slow and steady recovery in which things still sucked but were obviously in the process of getting steadily better than they were in 2011. I'm hoping that 2013 continues the upward trend.
