...i was in class...WITH YOU! but before we knew each other. actually i think that's the day i became friends with john in the stairwell while we were both looking through the window at the smoke in the sky...and yes reeva was definitely off her pot that day to tell us that.
i was home sick from school watching jenny jones on wb39, a news interruption happened and at the time, the first plane had already hit the tower. i thought it was either a sick joke, a horrible accident, or something from a movie, it was so surreal. then about 30 minutes later maybe, the second plane hit. i was GLUED to the tv at that point saying "oh my god" over and over again. i saw the people jumping out of the towers and my ma was goin frantic calling my dad, who was in NYC for a funeral. i think i had lost it when i saw the towers fall. because i was still in disbelief that all of this was actually happening.
i was driving to the gym that morning and i decided to listen to the radio after listening to the soundtrack to 'glitter' since i had gotten it at midnight that morning being the mimi fan that i was back in the day. anyway, i overheard some talk about a plane crash and i was like: "lame, another random plane crash." it didn't really hit me until i listened on to the dj and he said that the twin towers were hit by these planes and they were on fire. i was shocked, it was, like, 7 am here in vegas so it really woke me up when i heard the news. of course, it didn't hit me until i saw the towers collapse on the news and watch the horror of it all. i didn't understand why people would jump from up there. maybe doing so made them have control on how they died instead of waiting to burn or get crushed. it's sad really. i can't believe it's been so long...it still feels like it was just months ago.
I woke up early because I was planning to go to B&H with my friend Erin to pick up some photo stuff. She called my room after the 1st plane hit telling me Jen turn on the TV you won't believe this we are NOT going to B&H today etc. I turned on my tv and watched. My roommates Jenne and Jenn eventually got out of class and joined me, as well as Kirsten and probably some other people. At noon I had an appointment with Frieda to get a work study job. I noticed people were literally standing still and looking up in the middle of the street. At one point, I went to the top of Willoughby which was crowded and the maintenance dude said normally the top but off limits, but you know... The next day, Chris and I went up there again and took pictures.

Randy was home... I was sleeping during the attacks of 9-11. The night before, my boyfriend (obviously now ex) and I walked through the Twin Towers in the observation area where the Palm Trees grew tall inside one of the towers I forgot which one. We then ended up in area at the Brooklyn Promenade and it was like around 4:30am and that was the last time I ever saw the towers standing in Manhattan. Around 9:00am, my mom who can/used to see the towers standing tall from her office building told me that a plane hit one of the WTC buildings. In mid sleep, I'm like fine...I'll turn on the TV, it's probably just a helicopter and I see fire coming out the first Tower and I'm like huhhhh? And just that instance I watched the second plane hit the next Tower. Sleep could wait because there was no way I was watching both World Trade Center buildings on fire on television.
