Whisky Live day one is over. To be honest I'm not entirely sure it's been that great. It's been nice meeting up with some friends, and I've tasted a bunch of nice whiskies, but really, was that anything I couldn't have done down the pub for a lot less cash?

The event is expensive, with a two day pass setting you back £48, and the Highland Park " ( Read more... )

Certainly soulds like a trade show - especially the attitude.

Good to read some talk of whisky - I haven't had Bunnahabhain for some years, and am now thinking that that's the one I ought to treat myself to this week :)

I agree with you, if they're advertising they really should be handing it out pretty freely. After all, they're competing with the others to get you to taste it in the first place.

Better luck next time.

I will if you will.
I'm worried that I don't have a hangover.
Does that mean I'm still drunk?

Very probably I'm afraid. I suspect the amount of water I consumed in between times has saved me.

Had lots of water too. But what am I going to do with six paninis?

it used to be a non-voucher system, but when it was in George Sq, it was treated as a "all whisky you can drink" and they apparently had a serious problem with really drunk people. The voucher system is meant to temper this, and I found out that as long as you chatted & asked reasonable questions, you could get your 15ml dram without a voucher. might be different tomorrow though. and maybe the lowcut top did help...

Anyways see you later on...

Unblinkered was asked for zero vouchers, and he ran out. The message is clear.
