What are the guidelines for my fic?
All that we ask is that you meet at least 5,000 words, and that the fic is Psych-centric. Psych-centric, meaning in a crossover the Psych gang are the predominant characters. RPF is not allowed, unless the characters are involved. (i.e., Shawn meets James.)
Any rating, pairing, AU, crossover, etc is accepted. We also strongly reccommend you have your fic Beta'd.
Can I write slash?
Yes. Slash, femslash, het, extremely graphic kink, it's all allowed.
I have a Psych-fic in progress, can I use it?
We prefer new works, but if it has been posted, no. If you have a previously-unposted story, go for it!
If it has been posted before, but anonymously, please contact a mod.
Can I write in a verse?
Yes, you may write a sequel to a previous story for this challenge, as long as it meets the requirements and it's new.
Can I write for a prompt?
Yes! We have a prompts post here, and psych_prompts is there! Feel free to use them!
Can I write a series of one-shots/drabbles?
No. Your story must be one continous fic.
Can I use my story in another challenge?
A week after the Big Bang, yes. A week after the Big Bang officially ends, you can post your fic, art, all of it, anywhere. :)
What should my rough draft look like?
Your rough draft should be about 1/2 of your story- Minibangs: At least 2,500 words. Big Bangs: At least 7,500 words. Big Big Bangs: At least 12,500 words.
What are the different tracks?
There are three tracks in this big bang - a minibang (5,000 to 10,000 words), a big bang (15,000 to 20,000 words), and a big big bang (25,000+ words).
If I can't finish my story, can I downgrade my track?
Yes. At the second check-in, before the artist claims, you may downgrade or upgrade your track. Is your story falling a little short of that 15,000 word count? Go ahead and downgrade to a minibang. Is your story turning out a lot longer than the planned 20,000? Upgrade to a big big bang.
Can I write more than one story in more than one track?
There is currently no cap on the number of stories you can write. You can write as many as you like in as many tracks as you like. I.e., two minibangs, a big bang, and a big big bang.
As long as you can finish them (at least 5,000 words for the minibang, remember, you can downgrade), but please don't sign up for more than you can handle.
Can I co-author?
Yes, you may co-author. Please note this when signing up.
Can I be an artist and an author?
Yes, you can be both an artist and an author, as long as you are not the artist for your own story.
Can I co-author and write my own story?
Yes, you may, as long as you can get everything done. You can co-author, write your own stories, Beta, create art, everything, as long as you can get everything done.

What am I making art for?
You are making art for the authors' big bang stories, not standalone art. Once the writers have had some time to lay out/write some of their stories, there will be an anonymous post with all of the fic summaries. You can then make a claim on creating art for a story. Claims will be on a first come, first serve basis.
What if the story I want is already claimed?
Depending on the number of artists vs. fics, there may be more than one round of claims. If the artists outnumber the fics, we will be allowing multiple claims on the same story. If the fics outnumber the artists, we will require that you claim an unclaimed fic before making a multiple claim on a story. More information on this will be available when the claims post goes up.
What are the art requirements?
*Note - These requirements do not mean you must complete them all. These are requirements for specific art mediums - i.e., if you are a vidder, feel free to ignore the icon requirements. If your art medium is not specified here, please contact a mod. You may also mix and match the requirements - i.e., if you need to create two pieces of art for a big bang, you may do one banner and a set of icons. There is no cap to the amount of art you can make; feel free to make more than the required amount. (:
Minibang art: At least one piece of art - 1 banner, 5 icons, 5 songs on a fanmix with cover art, 1 minute long fanvid.
Big Bang art: At least two pieces of art - 2 banners, 10 icons, 10 songs on a fanmix with cover art, 1 minute 30 seconds long fanvid.
Big Big Bang art: At least three pieces of art - 3 banners, 15 icons, 20 songs on a fanmix with cover art, 2 minute long fanvid.
Can I make art for more than one story?
We are expecting more writers than artists, so depending on the number of stories, yes. You do not have to pick up more than one fic for art, but it is highly likely that the fic will outnumber the artists, and it'd be greatly appreciated.
We will have more information on this once sign-ups close.
What kind of art is permitted?
Any form of art is accepted. Banners, icons, cartoons, fanmixes, fanvids, etc. Anything you can think of!

What if I'm not comfortable beta'ing something?
When you sign up as a Beta, make sure to list all of your preferences as to what you are comfortable with reading.
General:
Should we join or watch the comm?
We ask that all writers and artists join, but Betas and readers are not required to join. You are free to, if you want to!
Can I show anyone my fic/art besides my Beta and artist?
As long as it is not posted. If we find a fic/art in another comm, or on another site that has been submitted to the challenge, it will be disqualified.
But if you want to show your roommate or something, that's cool!
Can I post my fic/art early?
No. You may post your fic/art on your day, and if there is a confliction, contact a mod. We're spacing out the fic reveals so each fic/art gets some time to shine!
How will I get in contact with my author/artist?
Once your fic has been claimed, you'll both recieve emails with the others contact information.
My fic/art is too big for one post, what do I do?
Post it in more than one part. We ask that you link to the other parts in your posts though - you may host the story in this comm, or you may host it on your journal. If it is in your journal, make sure that it is not f-locked.
Authors, artists, you can decide together whether you want to include the art in the fic post or in a seperate post. If it's in a seperate post, it must be linked.
NOTE: If you make multiple commitments, whether to writing more than one story, creating art for more than one story, beta'ing more than one story, or a combination of the three roles, please make sure you can complete everything accurately. There's always next round to switch up your role.
