I know, right? Two posts in one night, what is this shit? I'm actually a little embarrassed that this is going to be my first contribution to the glory that is the Merlin fandom. It was trying to be a drabble and a half, but I couldn't even do that right, so it's got no official structure, it's just very, very short

Merlin loves him, though, in that frightening, all encompassing way that warms Arthur to his core. Merlin sees through all his faults and weaknesses to the man he could be, and loves him just for trying

I didn't find it fluffy at all! I like the way you show Arthur recognizing and accepting Merlin's unconditional love, and the implication of his committing himself to becoming the man and king that Merlin envisions. Very well done.

Thanks so much! I wrote it all in a rush (is there any other way to write something so short?) and then sat and looked at it and hoped it seemed in-character to anybody but me.

Hee. The first year or so that I wrote, all I wrote was drabbles, for the challenges at tolkien_weekly, and I'd spend a whole week polishing and perfecting each one. I still don't write stuff that's much longer - my longest story ever is around 12,000 words, and my co-author is responsible for a third of it - but sometimes things can knocked off quickly,like a pencil sketch, and other times we have the leisure to be slow and careful, like a miniaturist's work.

thank you so much! Aren't they just? The more I watch the show (season one, at least), the more obviously canon they seem, and I just couldn't resist them any longer!
