The 'QUICK' Series

Our Moderator (Kevin kevinr) agreed I could do a series of 'QUICK' tutorials here. These are short and simple explanations of how to do something BASIC using Paint Shop Pro.

NOTE: Because these are short, I'll assume you know the BASICS of how to find things in PSP -- and how to use the various tools and palettes. These are designed ( Read more... )

THANKS!!! That means a ton to me!

It's easier to do in 8 and 9, but I just KNEW it could be done in 7. (I was so determined. You should have seen me. LMAO.)

I can't wait to play around with it myself! I love the effect and always wondered how it worked!

It worked great! I had no idea it was the Noise effect.. craziness. This was my outcome using the "grey rain" version:

That turned out just beautiful! I love it!

Seriously, I love this effect... I had no clue myself until I sat down and reasoned it out. LOL. I was just DETERMINED that it COULD, indeed, be done with PSP7. (Never mind the nay-sayers!)

Thanks for sharing that! I love it. Seriously. (Perfect background for rain...)

WOW!! Thanks for posting this. I have been dying to know how to do this effect, however, I am confused when you got to the layer pallete part. I understand some parts about copying the bases, but it got kinda confusing after step 6. I hope somebody can help me with this....

Maybe ... to make it a bit simpler, and not have to use the 'undo' feature, in step 2, make 4 copies of your original. That will leave you with:

1 base
3 copies to add the effects. (thus your three animation frames)
1 for steps 4/5
1 for step 14/5
1 for step 19/5

once you set the motion blur in step 5, it remains throughout the rest of the process, but don't forget to apply it in steps 14 & 19)

Thanks for helping out, Becky. I should probably do an EASIER version, rather than the 'QUICK' one, but hey... LOL.

Anything that makes things easier to do is GREAT by me!
