It Hasn't Been Your Day, Your Week, Your Month, Or Even Your Year

After everything that's happened since last year's holiday post, I'm not even sure where to begin. Is there anything I can say which hasn't already been articulated elsewhere?

The entire world experienced a very similar mood this year, taking the mournfulness I was experiencing twelve months ago into an entirely new realm and throwing all of our previous expectations out the window. With that in mind, only one holiday song really seems to capture the moment:

There is some hope for the year to come, however, with signs that we might collectively turn certain corners both medical and political, so I also wanted to include something more lighthearted and whimsical to bring balance to the forces at work:

Taken together, it seems like I should probably just pair my traditional rewatch of It's a Wonderful Life with Die Hard this time around...

Happy Holidays, everyone! I think this year has taught us a great deal about what and who we value in our lives, as well as how very unpredictable the future remains, so I hope we hold onto those lessons going forward.

season's greetings
