I've always put 1 space after semicolons and 2 spaces after periods.
What does it say in The Elements of Style?

I have always done the same, having been taught that way in school.

Only if WIS and INT are the same, IMNSHO. Charisma for a comic exists internally, I would think, as in "Do you like that Character(s)?". Merch on the other hand, is more external, "Would you buy that character's face/quotes/indicative likeness on a product?" Granted, if you say Yes (or No) to one, you'll probably say yes to the other, but they apply to two different branches.

And of course limiting it to just the characters in either case is absurdly restrictive, there's the groups they belong to, the world they live in, and the common scenarios they face day-to-day, the villains/antagonists they work against, and so on and so on.

I always thought of the animated show, "The Critic." High Wit but low Merch, I think. I still quote it, but I only saw one t-shirt with a giant Jay Sherman head on it, saying "It stinks!"

Hello Kitty is a good case for High Merch but Low Wit. While there have been several Hello Kitty shows, I can't think of any that lasted more than a single season, and all of them had some kind of "hook", usually fairy tales using the Sanrio characters as an ensemble cast.

Not that this is indicative of a lack of trying, of course, there's just only so far you can take a cute lil' cat face, story-wise.

So I guess this is a new gamer comic, and not the return of the CrispyGamer crew? That's kind of a shame, although I understand why. I really liked Preacher representing the "older gamer," without making him irrelevant -- a type that's very prevalent today, but doesn't get a lot of representation in the pop culture.

Yeah, it's role-playin' game stuff, so most likely medieval fantasy. And I completely agree with you on the 'older gamer,' as... I guess I'm becoming one.

It was weird today as I watched a YouTube vid for the coming "Mass Effect 3," that when I was my son's age, there wasn't even Mattel Electronics games out, and he could (if I shoved a controller in his hands) play with a game that has higher production values than many films.

It's kind of mind-boggling.

The line I've always wanted to use was one of Yeagar's: "Well, this is traptacular."
