He has played an American before. He was the Midwestern guy who helped the Doctor in the two-part Daleks in Mahattan story. It's just a matter of concealing the accent. After all, House doesn't sound British.

Hugh Laurie does an amazing job with House. For a while (I don't know if it's still true) he said he couldn't speak with an American accent if he wasn't reading from a script.

I think I own comics featuring about half those "other ill-advised costumes".
The music used in "Power Pack" after the opening credits, while everyone's going through their morning routine, is "Travel Music" by Danny Elfman from the Beetlejuice soundtrack.
The TMNT video is great! And the timing is pretty cool....Just yesterday, I was linked to this rather amazing video of someone fully recreating a Zelda medley with their own musical and vocal talents. If that guy is really playing all those instruments, I suddenly feel like I haven't done nearly enough with my life! (Probably not a good thought to be having on one's 31st birthday, haha. But I'll have cake later to feel better about Life In General, if not my eating habits. ;)
