Apparently I need to post more here as I've been nudged.  I've just completed a TCP/IP course through IBM this week.  Turns out that you can hack anything and I mean anything.  So now, I must take what I have learnt and apply it to my job.  I predict that by monday, I'll be checking hotmail from here ( Read more... )

So I've quit.  As of Christmas Eve.  It's been fun, I've been moody (even on the patch), but I'm a smoker no more.  I weakened on Friday and had some, but the effects we're horrible.  It was as if I was starting to smoker all over again.  This is something that is all or nothing, and I'm all for quitting. 

I made a promise back in 1999, that I would never wish for snow.  The day after I wished it, all hell broke loose.  Since then, my friend has made sure that I never wish for that again, however, I must, for the sake of winter I say.

"I wish it would snow"

I'm sorry......

In the end, Murphy and I came to an agreement.  He won't FUBAR my applications for the next 2 weeks, and I stop pulling on his ear. 

I stand staring into the eyes of Murphy, demanding his law be broken, and so far I haven't blinked.

This, so far, has been one hell of a week.  One of my co-workers (in FACT, my only co-worker) decided to hit the road and have a two week vacation away from cell phones and pagers.  She told me that she didn't expect any major problems and ran me through a few mild scenarios of things that might happen.  On Friday she left ( Read more... )
