I am ear to a systems engineer that can truly sympathize, empathize and maybe even challenge your plight. He's created a completely new network from the ground up, complex in code, large in scale, and days before release: is requested to make changes that would push release back by a week. And this is just one of 4 other irritating requests of similar nature that he's been given since hire. All for the low, low, LOW price of 1220.00 usd per month!! I told him it's job security, but he thinks it's just the most frustrating experience of a technical person's life. I'm tempted to agree, but I think you have may be more educated in this area regardless of how similar your task is to his!!
