Interesting. I guess that's the way to go. Obama is very good at looking good. But then again he also comes off as highly intelligent. So does Hillary. But that's politics for ya.
I dunno, when it comes to Wright I can't help but think of that "preacher man, preacher man, telling me how I'm gonna burn" tune that I overheard Brody singing several years ago.
heresy? or simple hatred??providence4uMay 7 2008, 18:53:19 UTC
Yes, I do distrust them both; Obama because of his spin over this flap with "his" preacher; you know, the man who brought him to Christ and married him to Michelle.
I distrust Wright because he is a Christian leader. I don't think too many people heard Paul, or really even Jesus, speak like he has. And yes the topic matters. When Jesus condemned the Pharisees, he was speaking of God's righteousness. Wright is not. The Pharisees set themselves up as the arbiters of morality for the Jewish people. Wright is attacking things and people that have really nothing to do with his king's (Jesus) realm. It goes back to MY thoughts on the separation of Christians from politics, rather than Christianity from politics.
Wright has gone astray, and he is taking his flock with him. I do not believe Obama when he claims ignorance of such deeply held beliefs of a man he chose less than 2 years ago to be his spiritual advisor as he seeks the Presidency. His words ring of political expediency.

So you actually distrust both Obama and Wright?

What if we hate the idea of Hillary as president for all the wrong reasons?
Did Sally Field actually have a point when she said that if women ruled the world there'd be no goddamn war?
What if we bring down the wrath o' God on this hizhouse?
