AnOTP - for the tormenting of Mr. Darcy

Dec 02, 2006 00:19

Antisocial as ever, Darcy will be seated at his desk, working on his correspondence. He would prefer not to be bothered, but that hopefully won't stop anyone.

Cosette, for some reason or another, will end up there with him. She wants nothing more than to leave without speaking to him, but will curtsey like the proper young lady she is.

"Mrs. Pontmercy," Darcy says cooly, acknowledging her presence with a polite nod.

Typist: Oh, this is going to be tough. They're going to fight this kicking and screaming, aren't they? XDDD

"Mr. Darcy. You have been well, I hope?"

"Quite. Will you care to sit? I can have a fresh pot of tea brought."

Caroline, as if often the case, has been on a search for Darcy. A search that will finally lead her to find him at his desk and greet him with a curtsey.

"Good day, Mr. Darcy."

Darcy looks up and does not quite allow a smile. "Good day, Miss Bingley."

Caroline certainly does allow a smile, and then some. "Look at you, locked away like this. It certainly cannot be good for your health."

"Nor is neglecting my duties, I'm afraid. But I would welcome some company, Miss Bingley, will you sit?"

For whatever reason, Christine has found him. She has not sought him out, and likely she's not even sure why she is here. But, she is, and she has found him. And she will smile to him, as she quite likes Darcy, he has been kind to her.

"Pardon my intrusion, Monsieur Darcy." And she curtsies.

Darcy nods in greeting. "Miss Daae. May I inquire after your health?"

"If I may inquire after yours. I am well, thank you very much, Monsieur Darcy. And yourself?" Another, grateful curtsy.

"Well enough. The weather does not agree with me, I am afraid. I dislike the wet."

Fitzwilliam pauses in the doorway, not wanting to interrupt -- however, his desire for company is apparently greater than his reluctance to pester Darcy. "Are you going to spend the day shut up in here again, Darcy?" he asks.

"Most likely." Darcy looks up, and here is the first person to get an actual smile, yay! "Hello, Fitzwilliam."

Fitzwilliam, of course, is prone to smiles, and so returns it readily. "Hello. You'll go mad like this, one day, you know."

"The world will mourn the loss, I am sure."

And one Charles Bingley happens by, pausing at the door. "Really, Darcy, there are much more interesting things to do than paperwork. Why don't you come riding with me?"

Typist: Okay, so I couldn't resist. XD

Darcy smiles up at him, not putting down his pencil. "You're incorrigible, Bingley. Do you ever get any work done?"

Typist: You're terrible. XD

Darcy: Why, I'd love to, Bingley. Drop your pants. OH. OH. Riding WITH you. HORSES. Got it.

"Sometimes!" he replies, brightly. "When I'm terribly bored. Or in London."

Typist: Why thank you! :D

Darcy laughed aloud at that (and how often does THAT happen?). "Do the events typically coincide, Bingley?"
