I graduated last week. Pretty awesome. (Although the ceremony was miserably hot and loud and blargh. But at least I got a diploma out of it.) -
No longer nameless
With the help of my friends and the approval of my parents, I've finally chosen a name (in particular a name that, as much as I love Dr. Pepper and Prof Time, is not a Mathcamp in-joke) that I feel fits me.

You can tell my work ethic is terrible because I'm posting this instead of working on my sosc paper.
Why does having tics bother me so much? This does not make any sense. Tourette syndrome is one of the most minor disorders anyone could ask for, and I'm pretty lucky it's just that and not epilepsy, dystonia, autism, tardive dyskinesia, or any of the number of other neurological disorders it superficially looks like. Thoughts, part 2
Everything is back to normal now and I thought I'd be very grateful, but after a while I'm definitely missing the extremely elevated mood. I guess I also didn't realize that the pattern of my thoughts over break was just a highly uncontrolled version of my normal thought patterns. -

Life goal achieved
I saw Jacob Lurie give a talk today! It was on nonabelian Poincaré duality, and despite having minimal background in algebraic topology I actually understood what was going on to some extent. Not that I'll remember much of it later but it's convinced me to try once again to learn algebraic topology. Hopefully this time it'll work out.
