I was going to do an angry rant-y post about RL, and then a post of happy things to make up for it. But I settled down with a cup of coffee, ranted to my mum instead, and then watched the men's artistic gymnastics, followed by the 10m synchro diving (we won silver, whoo!) so I don't quite feel the need to shout into the void of the internets

Bummer about the need to rant, but glad you were able to get it off your chest.

Speaking of the GSF, I'm hoping there'll be some awesome interviews out of the tour and maybe another Rage appearance.

I'm kind of tossing up whether to go to the Brisvegas concert or not now that there's no Great Escape.

You should go! Who knows when their ridiculous faces will come to our shores again? Also, bonus TAI and Cobra (Cobra are v.v. fun live - Gabe is a good frontman) - it's a good dose of our fandom needs rolled into one handy night. erilyn is going, right?

Ugh, but our interviewers are all made out of fail. I think Panic are playing Rove on the Sunday after the Melbourne concert, but musical guests don't usually do an interview. I am hoping for a Rage appearance by any one of the three bands, and maybe interview with Triple J so Lindsay can fanboy Panic again. =D

I'm 80% convinced. There was an issue seeing Backstreet where I felt they could see "I wrote porn about you" etched across my forehead.

I was mostly thinking of Triple J. Though there's that youtube clip of them being interviewed on Nova or similar and they were so bemused and baffled at his heavy use of Aussie slang and candid/naughty questions that I found it hilarious to watch.

The swan picture makes me think of Swan Lake. LOLZ. I can't wait till next week...

...and your Swan Lake reference makes me want a ridiculous AU about a small time, local dance company doing a version of Matthew Bourne's Swan Lake. Jon is in the props department, but gets roped into being a chorus dancer when someone's injured and needs catch up lessons with the boys. Brendon has grand dreams of being the swan and refuses to accept that he isn't the star of the company. Ryan's constantly fighting with the director and choreographer about the 'artistic vision', and Spencer is constantly wondering how on earth he ended up in a dance company when he wanted to be a drummer.

(My brain is a frequently terrifying place.)

Hahahaha, your brain is awesome. I want to photoshop them all into feathery costumes now! And yes, Ryan would be complaining to Spencer all the time about how "seriously, I don't even know how Beckett even got hired, he's so not that good!"

And I wouldn't say no to a flat-out Swan Lake au either. *gets dreamy-eyed, thinking about PRETTY BOYS*

ZOMG. I just posted that comment to you both below, and then I realised - a Billy Elliot/Swan Lake AU. Ryan as Billy, whose dad just doesn't get why his son wants to dance; I know this would make Spencer Michael, but somehow I like the idea of Spencer as Debbie, and Brendon as Michael better.

I'm not serious about this idea, but the images in my head right now are kinda amazing. =)
