accidental video/action for the boys at the Hub

It's not the first time Gwen's drifted off at her station and it happens a little more often now, thanks to the loss of Tosh and Owen. Really, three people aren't enough for such a large job, but Gwen takes it all in stride. Rhys knows well enough by now that her being gone some nights isn't a sign of problems in the marriage. It's just how devoted ( Read more... )

Ianto, who has been fussing around in his little kitchenette corner for the better part of half an hour to have something to before he goes back to archiving, did his best not to spill coffee on himself at the sound of Gwen's voice. The Hub had been mostly quiet until then (save for the sounds of dripping water from somewhere--he would find that leak someday, and fix it), so the shrillness of Gwen's crying out definitely was startling enough to be noticeable. He put down his mug carefully, and quickly started making his way over to where Gwen was seated at her station.

Jack, however, having been seated in his office until the sudden interruption of his boredom work, was quicker to get there. He stood from the doorway, looking out at Gwen, who well. Didn't seem to be in any danger, or anything like that. "Alright there, Gwen?" he called out, cautiously (because who really knew, with Torchwood).

It took Gwen a moment to nod and wave absently to Jack as she still worked on trying to get her breath back. Her mind was still quite fuzzy and a little slow to get out of the dream state she'd been in, but she was aware of where she was and what had jarred her awake was nothing more than a dream.

Sighing, she reached up to run a hand through her disheveled hair.

"I'm alright."

[ooc: It's all good!]

"You sure?" Jack asked. At about that point, Ianto made his way up the stairs to where the stations were, right in time for the old-fashioned rotary phone in Jack's office to start ringing. Jack glanced at Ianto, and the two of them shared a look, before Jack disappeared back into his office, shutting the door behind him. If it was important, she'd tell him about it. Or Ianto'd tell him about it later. Either or, he wasn't too worried about it.

Ianto, on the other hand, went to lean against her work table, looking down at her as she collected herself. He didn't say a word, but he didn't really have to. Everything about his poise and the way that he was looking at her made it clear that he was looking for more of an explanation than the one two words that Gwen had just fed them. "Gwen?" he asked.

She aimed a shaky smile at Ianto, very aware of what he was expecting. Her mind was still sorting through everything she'd seen in the dream and honestly, she didn't want to remember it all.

"Bad dream 's all. I really am alright."
