It's taken me a while to realize this, but I kinda hate most halter tops ( Read more... )

Have you thought about a simple crop top?

My group uses cholis as practice gear right now, and I also have noticed a lot of neck and back strain from my halter style tops (which is a shame for me because due to my large bust, the halter usually supports rather well) however I have noticed there are simple fitted cropped shirts out there. I went and turned on my google-fu and found these here:http://www.movementconnection.com/browse.cfm/crop-top/4,2012.html for about 20ish dollars a piece.

The other idea I had was a tube top with a strapless bra. If you don't have to worry too much about the girls needing a lot of support, you could probably wear a strapless and tube for the day. After all, I've seen your arms in your videos and you could do quite well showing them and your back and shoulders off. And, most tubes are pretty fitted so you wouldn't have to worry about it shifting around too much. Pair the tube with a blazer?

Hope that

Excellent point about crop tops, and that link you found has some cute tops. :)

I might try the strapless bra idea, except none of mine are very comfortable, and I haven't decided when to invest in a really nice one (though I want to at some point). And I don't think I could get away with a tube top while performing with certain props--a hoop, for instance, would probably wriggle it down around my waist!

I think if I could find more crop tops with regular straps, or straps that criss-cross in the back, that would be ideal for me.

Oh wow. For what is is worth I totally loved and agree with your post and well, halter tops are gorgeous and not neck friendly.

Ok, perhaps putting D ring ties in all of your tops would help. (I have a pic I can email you from my phone.) Also those tops that draconangelica showed looked nice too, ditto Flying Skirts.

Perhaps getting a different size in L. Rose might also help. Didi Roy wore one of my L. Rose tops and it gave her more covereage and just as much support and she loved it.

L. Rose also has those cute new hoodie tops that you could layer with a regular top for all kinds of activities. :)

That's true - I might try converting some of my halter tops with D. Rings.

And you can bet I'm eying some of those L. Rose tops... oh yeah, Sharifwear has some good ones too... so many options! ;)

I'm not nearly as active as you, obviously, so I don't know if these will fit your purposes at all--but they're comfy and all kinds of cheap. The first place I found them online just happened to be Wally World but I bet they could be located elsewhere, too. I mostly use them for just lounging purposes but someone equipped with fewer >hem< chestular additives could probably use them for a moderate-intensity activity like dancing or hooping no problem, and running wouldn't be totally out of the question, depending.

Cool, thanks... I will look into these little camisole-bra-thingies. They look promising. :)
