[Kanda is too, because now he's recalling Alma's face when he saw him, trying to get out of the lab with Marie on his back. How relieved he was, how he cried, and how... Alma tried to kill him.

But that was just it. Kanda couldn't keep lying to Alma. He had just been brushing things off more than simply lying to him. Avoiding things. Now, though, he couldn't avoid those questions anymore. "What am I like when I grow up?" "What's my Innocence like?"]
