This is a lot like a science fiction movie.
[Huey keeps his voice light, casual, as best he can. He needs information more than anything.]
Alright, so lets hypothetically assume this to be the "real" world. If all of the past turned out to be false - remember, this is hypothetical - then that would indicate that I had a past here. Logically, those

Hyperion.
Unfortunately, it ain't no movie, or VR or whatever else yer mind can throw at ya. As for wildlife.. yea, there's that, I suppose.

[The "cold sleep chambers" bit is pinging him seriously. He isn't going to expand on the wildlife comment. That would completely destroy the point of having used it. There's the faint sound of his glasses clinking.]
I figured it wasn't. But it's still pretty fascinating.

I guess. Most of the stuff here is pretty out of date for me, but for Human stuff it ain't bad.
Reply
...out of date? You sound like you're from the future.

In truth, they are both reality. The true unknown is what happened between your last memory and when you woke up here, is it not?

But you're right. How I got here is more important.

I must also warn you; should you have any supernatural powers do not use them in public.
Reply
I don't think I do. But thank you for the warning, miss.

...Sorry, doc, I don't think I'm following.
[worse yet; he knows all these things about huey's future from otacon...wonderful.]

But in the end, it doesn't matter if the memories are true or false. Because what matters the most is the situation we're in. The past will always be there, even if we don't remember it, but the present is far more important.
It's like all of those people that go crazy over fortune tellers who'll tell them about their past lives. It doesn't really make all that much sense to be so excited over it, because the only life that matters all that much is the one you're living right now.
[There's relief in his voice.]
It's good to hear a familiar voice.

Don't get too used to it. It's just me and Kaz right now, and some - well... [yeah that will be great to explain.] There's a lot to talk about, but that can wait. Did you just get out of there?

I just got out of there a few minutes ago. I took the tram - got some pretty funny looks too. You two are the only ones?
[He wonders what that means for Dr Strangelove. Was she back there somewhere?]

[Brb, staring down at his CLD.]
[You know, Huey, you sound a hell of a lot like your son. And that's a voice Snake wasn't expecting to hear again anytime soon. And he's just selfish enough to be a little grateful to hear from (who he thinks is) Otacon, even if it's hardly the best place for them to be.]

[Snake's somewhere not far outside the hostel, taking Big Boss's advice and training. He'd answered almost immediately, so he's a little breathless, but there's a bit of a rare smile in his voice. He'd missed you, bro. Well, not you-, but, you know.]
You tell me.

Huh, I wondered how long it would take you to pick up on that one, Snake. You sound like you've been running or something. You alright?
Reply
[Okay, someone's taking this all in stride. He's not sure if he should be proud or worried.]
Better now. You don't sound all that surprised to hear from me.
