So you're the guy in charge, eh? Well, I have a few questions for you.

First: what's this 'Imago'?

Second: What is SE?

voice purity_npcs October 20 2010, 19:05:56 UTC
Ah, not quite. I am merely a spokesperson, Mr Raynor; for aforementioned Imago. They're...[ah, he sighs. How often has he had to explain this by now? It's getting quite tiresome, why can't you never bother to read the flyers they made for you guys, hm?] A second.

[A pause.]

United Earth Directorate, was it?

You mean the Confederates? Cause I ain't heard of an 'United Earth Directorate.'

So, they're like the Confeds? [Oh god, that was not the right thing to say, Ego.]

[There's a small pause. Ooooh. Ah, yes, of course.]

Essentially. Is the concept now easier to grasp? As for the SE, I am afraid that is a bit harder to explain. Did you not read the information that was provided for you, Mr Raynor?

There were other "Awakened" before us, you said. Where can we find them?

voice purity_npcs October 20 2010, 19:10:07 UTC
All over the city, of course. There's no set 'schedule' for when people awaken; usually we have one or two every week, so this is an unusual occurence, indeed. Some of the first people that have awakened, just as you have, have been living here for approximately - [pause] about 70 years now. Some of them offer their advice for freshly awakened as yourself; for directions, refer to the Info Desk in Newton's Hostel.

[She sounds floored.]

70 years...? [That's not good.]

How do you believe our memories to be useful, sir? [A little politeness might offset all the negativity from the others.]

[Good. Because he is on your side, and Mutants are notoriously known for their rudeness, but he is used to it.]

You have obtained knowledge and skills you would otherwise not possess, am I correct? In order to reconstruct this country, all kinds of positions must be filled. Skilled technicians, for one, are always high in demand. Do you understand?

Hey hey, wait a second! What do you mean this is my home? I don't quite remember my home being so... gross.

voice purity_npcs October 20 2010, 19:27:58 UTC
You've presumably been born on American soil just as any other denizen of Boston - as a human. You just do not remember it.

[Huff.] No way! I've lived in Station Square for a while, but I wasn't born there, and it's definitely not my home!

Well, that is just what you believe right now. It's quite normal. Give it a few weeks, Mr, er ...

Mr Hedgehog?

How kind of you to put our worries at rest by telling us that this is our...home. This Catastrophe...just what happened to Boston?

voice purity_npcs October 20 2010, 19:35:48 UTC
[Curt;] A war. Not much is known about the circumstances; it was before our time. And it did not just affect Boston, unfortunately.

I suppose all records were destroyed. How much of the country is effected?

Voice purity_npcs October 20 2010, 19:51:16 UTC
Most of them. We do not have that much knowledge, you see; it's been over two hundred years. [Probably.] We are working hard to fix the country, but at this time, still over 90% of America remain uninhabitable.

'Live the lives that are rightfully ours', is that correct? I'm sure that we will. And since the mayor is too busy to answer questions, perhaps you will do for now. Surely, these lives that are rightfully ours comes with more than three items, a cookie, and a short stay at a hostel?

You did say we were equal to the other citizens as well.

voice purity_npcs October 20 2010, 19:41:49 UTC
Indeed you are. You have all possess the same rights that are also granted to the native citizens - but also the same duties. That means you are expected to work to make a living and contribute your part to rebuilding this society. Otherwise, no progress will be made. We cannot - [he wants to say coddle, but oh well] let you recover for longer than is necessary. Your help is required.

Same duties, I don't contest. I'm sure we'd be of much help to everyone, actually, with the skills and knowledge that most bring. But surely there are more efforts to help regain our footing? Even your citizens are born into family, and grow up with many years of knowing what to do for the world.

It is rather difficult, you see. The city itself is not in the best of conditions, but we have done as much as we can - especially the natives. It is rather depressing to be born into the world as it is now, and I can imagine that most of you are feeling the same way right now, but it cannot be helped. [He sounds so very apologetic.] Time is also valuable. Considering how long everything has laid in ruins, and how long it takes us to rebuild, we cannot really afford to give you any more time - we have provided as much assistance as possible, but beyond that, we need to be more concerned about the greater good of the many - that is, Boston, and America as a whole. Please try to understand our situation.

[And this is Ego saying in as many words as possible, 'Deal with it.']
