Going slightly crazy. It is in my interest to have deliverables delivered by tomorrow night. It's possible if I work straight through, but it'll be tough, and so much else is weighing on me, mostly move-related. I haven't packed much beyond that first push on Sunday. I don't want to deal with the parking office to get some stupid signs, but I must ( Read more... )

"Well, if I recall correctly, the utilities were only about $12/month."

Or just choose a number that's moderately reasonable for your area. $100. $120. $200.

Of course, I think it'd be funnier to go with the $12/mo number. ;)

In these days when heating costs have nearly doubled in just a few years utility costs have become a rather important factor in renting an apartment. In fact, one of the reasons my roommates and I are moving out is due to excessive utility bills.

Madison's main gas and electric company has a web page where you can LOOK UP a particular address's electricity and heating average annual/monthly costs. I haven't been able to find such a service with NStar however (assuming that's what you use).

I am all in favor of the power to kill with your mind.

In high school, my friend took a magic marker to the glovebox cover of her car. She drew in little squares and labeled them things like "Death Ray", "Disintegration", "Angry Puppies", and "Oil Slick". When driving along she'd gleefully recount how the car that just cut her off had exploded in a fiery ball after she launched the heat-seeking missiles.

Clearly, you need this same feature on your IM client.
