I've only seen satellites in the sky once during a camping trip far far away from any major city. It was pretty neat spotting them.

Another bit of 'magic' I've done on SecondLife is with the 'Babbler' program. Not only have I talked to people on the other side of the planet, I've talked with people (and have had meaningful conversations) in a language I don't even understand.
