"If you are vegetarian and under 40 years of age, make sure you get the right intake of B-vitamins, especially vitamin B12 - or else you could be at the risk of suffering a stroke".

Indians aged 40 or below are up to 10 times more likely to be affected by strokes than their counterparts in the West;

I'm vitamin B12 deficient, and i eat meat! So are my mother and grandmother, and she's a vegetarian. I had to get an injection last year because it was so low - apparently it causes brain damage in the long term. So maybe my feelings of intellectual inferiority weren't caused entirely by the graduate school experience after all...

it's a high dose of vitamin B12 injection - for people who lack the ability to process vitamin B12, or who have really low B12 levels. I had to buy it from the pharmacist and bring it back to the health clinic - then the nurse struggled to make sure she didn't hit some really important nerve while injecting it into a place where you really don't want sharp objects coming too close. Not fun. Go for the daily vitamins instead :)

Do they mean people in India, or all Indians in the west?

exp was done in bangalore (i guess w/india-indian subjects?). true true, i was wondering that myself - perhaps those indians in the west have a different nutritional profile.

perhaps all those pesticides in indian coca cola are maybe leeching the B12 vitamins.

the ladies are and the males aren't. so, i'll have to get some to take more B12 and the others to eat less processed meats!
