Snape brought Lupin into his room, which was full of books, magazines the occasionally potion making tool lying around. He didn't bother trying to clean, since this was him, who he was. Lupin could take it or leave it.

"Does anything in particular sound good to you? Meats, pasta, shepherds pie? Tossed salda?

The books made him feel more comfortable then he might have, with words like 'date' and 'be there in the morning' still floating between them. He picked up a book and flipped through it idly. "What's your favourite thing to cook?"

"Soups I think," Snape answered, looking in the fridge and cupboards to see what he had on hand. "It's closest to potion making, and fine tuning ingredients to make it taste perfect is enjoyable."

He walked to Lupin, settling a hand on his arm. "How would you feel about stew for dinner? I have a french loaf to go with it."

[bedtime. curse you job!]

"Stew would be lovely." He looked down at the hand, which send a slight shiver through him; he wasn't used to casual touching.

Nor was Severus used to casual touch, but he was trying to act like a normal person, and not the walking dysfunction that he was.

"Make yourself at home then. Unless you'd like to help cut up vegetables."

"Or perhaps both." While he appreciated Snape's good intentions, he couldn't resist leaning over a little and brush his lips against the other man's, especially not when it wiped the smug look off his face.

Snape wasn't about to complain, and took the opportunity to brush his tongue along Lupin's, tasting wine and everything that was unique to Remus.

"Nothing in dating etiquette says no snogging before dinner," he murmured before deepening the kiss, his hand sliding up Lupin's arm to cup the back of his neck. His thumb brushed back and forth along the sensitive skin.

"Merlin, I hope not." He shivered a little at the touch to his sensitive neck, but soon forgot it in the taste of wine and spices and Snape.

Pain pills are kicking in, going to try sleeping. I'm so in love with your Remus!!! professor_snark May 5 2010, 08:15:30 UTC
Snape may have been self loathing at times, but never masochistic. Yet here he was, torturing himself for no other reason than an arbitrary rule that was only in his mind.

One he intended to keep.

And yet, he couldn't resist rubbing his hand against Lupin's erection, pressing against it and moaning softly. Merlin, he couldn't remember wanting someone as badly as he wanted Remus. Even when he was at Hogwarts he'd wanted him. Perhaps that was why he was so cruel at times. Expressing his anger and frustration at the thing he couldn't have.

"You're in my head," he growled, his mouth moving to Lupin's neck, "the way you looked when you climaxed. The way you tasted on my tongue. The fact I say things to you I could never sat to anyone else. It's all I think about. What have you done to me?" He nipped Lupin's neck then pulled back to look at him, searching his eyes as his hand continued rubbing his erection through his trousers.

"I don't think I'd do well down there." He'd never been good with small, dark or cold places.

"Overdone or not, I don't care. I'm suddenly famished."

"Then by all means, let's eat before you distract me yet again."

And that's what Lupin was. A constant distraction to him now. Always in the back of his mind, always at the edge of every thought.

Remus Lupin.

Going to the kitchen, he got down two bowls and set them on the counter. "Help yourself," he said, retrieving their wine bottle and refilling their glasses.

"I think you have things a bit backwards, Sev. I was just going to use the loo." He put on his shirt, buttoning it as he headed for the kitchen and dishing himself up a large bowl of stew. "It can't be too ruined. It smells good."

"It's 'Sev' now is it?" Snape asked, arching an eyebrow at Lupin. Not that he was bothered by it. The only other person to call him that had been Lily.

"Just don't expect me to start calling you, Remy, or snookums."

Severus watched Remus stripping out of his clothes with a happy smirk. Soon, his were in neat and folded pile on the sand. The last thing he did was drop his briefs on the top of the pile.

He glanced over at Remus and grinned before wading naked into the water and diving in, letting the warm water flow over his skin.

Remus froze with his hand on his fly, watching as the last of Snape's clothes were stripped and he moved from land and into water. His skin was pale from so little exposure to the sun, but the muscles under were well toned had Remus transfixed.

Severus wasn't aware of Lupin's scrutiny until he rolled onto his back to float, and saw him watching him.

He arched an eyebrow, amused.

"Do you plan on joining me, or would you rather gape on shore like a fish?"

"It's a shame I can't do both." But he stripped out of the rest of his clothes and walked into the water. Once it was up to his knees he made a shallow dive, staying under until his lungs demanded air.
