Having given instructions on the day's assignment (vanishing earthworms), McGonagall set about monitoring the progress of the room. Making sure each of the students had plenty of the wriggling creatures to work with, it was only a matter of time before she had to correct the pronunciation of an unfortunately scatter-brained student.

He turned to Brady and gave a small smirk, shrugging as he did so.

"Don't worry. I'm just going to vanish you," Dean explained to small brown ball on his desk.
He mumbled the spell and flick his wand twice in what seemed to be the correct way. He stared at the worm, waiting for it to disappear.
"You're suppose to vanish," he told the worm with a sigh.

He hadn't attempted his own yet, too amused by how the other Gryffindor boys were faring to add his own failure to the list.

"What about yours, mate?," Dean said pointing to Harry wriggling worm. "Look it's all nervous. I'm sure vanishing a calm worm is a lot easier than vanishing a stressed out one."

"Here goes, huh?"
Turning back to the worm, he mimicked McGonagall's wand motion and spoke the incantation.
When he was finished, his smug grin faded a bit into one of mild disgust. Only it's outer layer seemed to have been affected, basically revealing the inside contents for all to see.

"Something wrong, baby?" he asked quietly, looking with innocent concern at his boyfriend.

Well, so it seemed to him and he didn't want to touch it. "Teddy..." he wailed quietly, too softly to be overheard by anyone but his boyfriend.

"Well, love, the point of this little exercise is to make it so that you don't have to see it anymore." Smirking a little, he used his wand to scoot the worm a little closer. "Wouldn't you like that?"
