Why, I have no idea what you're talking about. But it was a relief, not to have to out myself, so to speak, and also not to have it sat on. That's what happens in academic publishing in the humanities: your MS sits, and sits, and sits around some more while some external reviewer puts it at the bottom of his or her To Do list (and of course, they are very poorly compensated, if at all, so you can't blame them.) It could take a full year for them to get back to me. It would be a huge waste of everyone's time. I wrote the editor and she agreed--huge waste of everyone's time. So everyone was quite sensible about it. A rarity!

And I guess you'll just have to write a steamy romance novel, then, won't you? Perhaps with some mysterious Gothic hero and Forbidden Love.
