I will confess that when I wrote the bit about the list about Arthur's mum, I had to stop and have a little cry. POOR ARTHUR. He has had such a sad life. xx
Oh, Arthur's heartbreaking lists had me tearing up. He's had such a wretched, lonely life and his father, who loves him has brought him back to a place he'd hoped never to see again. Only now that he's known happiness, it's so much worse. It's no wonder he's devastated.
Merlin's list was a balm. Fortunately, Arthur is not in the running for Miss World and, really, only number 10 is really important. Arthur hearing Merlin's much missed voice in each point showed how much number 10 really, really counts.
The reconciliation was pitch perfect. Arthur's wrecked but willing and hopeful and Merlin's hopeful but tentative. These guys deserve to be happy. Thank goodness Arthur's finally making up his own mind. Morgana, Gwen and Lance brought just the right touch of humor to that scene. Again, I was getting a bit teary. These boys shouldn't hurt. Ever.
Uther, on the other hand, deserves to feel wretched. At least he's trying.
Amazing from start to finish. I hardly ever read modern AU fics anymore because of the similarities between them all but I commend you for your fresh, witty and highly enjoyable creation. I start long fics at the end to see if its worth going on and I was barely two paragraphs in part 4 when I went back to part 1 and didn't pause for breath from then on! Hilarious, touching and angsty by turns you've left me with a huge smile on my face. Fav bits: The shiny shoes The Miss World, of course, was brilliant Your fantastic Morgana The humorous references to 'The Cat' had me in stitches Your fresh take on Arthur's dysfunctional personality. Thankyou very much for such an enjoyable ride!
