Wow, I didn't expect the thought that it was all a dream.

But, though this is fiction, it definitely kind of rings true. I remember I would dream of my ex being dead (not killed by me, just passed) long before we divorced. It's so hard to live on eggshells.

Great job! Quick recovery by her, saying "monster." But aren't abusers monsters, truly, after all?
