Oof - when my mind extrapolates out from here, I don't like what I see. Hopefully she makes her escape a little more silent in reality, rather than landing herself in hot water from a murder charge! I've dated men like the one described here; it's incredibly hard to see abuse when it's not physical, and it's incredibly hard to get away from. The ending of this was just perfect!

Wow. Powerful.

Too many people suffer at the hands of abusive partners. Emotional and psychological abuse is so hard to endure, too easy to hide, and so terribly difficult to recover from.

I've had recurring dreams about past abusive relationships. It's hard to purge them, for sure.
